Abstract:
Concepts of liberation in "On Liberty" of John Stuart Mill have contributed to the social changes in many democratic countries around the world, especially in Western countries. The work discusses the importance of the liberty of human beings to the development of the whole society. That is the ideas of liberation of speech, liberation of the individual is placed in relationship to social liberation but it must ensure equality in the law. His thoughts bear profoundly humane and are interested by many researchers. If we dismiss certain limitations, the major values can be applied in the process of building civil society today.
