Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement explains how the International Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (IJPR), published by NN Publication, collects, uses, and protects the personal information of authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers who use this website.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect personal information when you submit a manuscript, register an account, act as a reviewer, subscribe to updates, or contact us directly. This may include:
- Name, affiliation, and job title
- Contact details, including email address, phone number, and mailing address
- Professional credentials and biography
- Manuscript content and authorship information
- IP address and browser information
2. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing
We process this information to manage the submission, peer review, and publication process; to communicate with authors, reviewers, and readers; to comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and, where applicable, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
3. Confidentiality of Peer Review
Manuscripts and reviewer identities are treated as confidential throughout the review process. Reviewers may not share manuscript content with third parties or use it for personal advantage. IJPR uses double-blind peer review: reviewer identities are not disclosed to authors, and author identities are withheld from reviewers.
4. Research Participant Data
Where a submitted article discusses identifiable case details or images of research participants, authors must confirm that informed consent to publish was obtained, or that the data has been fully anonymized. Articles must state which applies, in line with our Editorial Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to manage the editorial and publication process, and for five years afterward for record-keeping and research-integrity purposes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized. Published articles and their associated metadata, including author names and affiliations, are retained indefinitely as part of the permanent scholarly record.
6. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share it with:
- Editorial board members and reviewers involved in the manuscript review process
- Service providers who assist in operating the journal, such as hosting, email distribution, plagiarism screening, and DOI registration services, under confidentiality obligations
- Legal authorities, where required by law or in response to legal proceedings
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies
This website may use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and analyze web traffic. You can accept or decline cookies through your browser settings; declining cookies may limit some site features.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccuracies
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal or operational retention requirements described above
- Withdraw consent to processing based on consent, at any time
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated
