VALUES OF MANAGERS - PERCEPTIONS OF MBA STUDENTS

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to estimate the influence of MBA course on identification of managerial values. The sample of the study includes 100 MBA students comprising of 50 male and 50 female. For this MBA students were selected immediately after admission into the course and just before leaving the course. Only the students present both the times were included in the sample. The data were collected with the help of list of 48 values prepared by the investigator. They were asked to identify the values to be possessed by managers in three alternative preferences i.e., always, sometimes and rarely. The data were analysed by assigning 2, 1 and 0 and the means, standard deviations and t-values were used to find out the significance of the difference between entry level and exit level, male and female and science and arts background students. The students show significant difference between the entry level and the exit level. The findings of the study also show that female students have higher means when compared to male students and arts students show higher mean values when compared to science background students.
