WOMEN, THE PERFECT SATANIC ALLY: A STUDY ON THE GENDER BIASED DIABOLIC TREATMENT
ANJANA K.S, KAVYA PURUSHOTHAMAN
The Moment Eve bit the forsaken fruit, the entire civilization lost their residence in the utopic garden of Eden. Not Adam but Eve, the first of her kind and the very first to sin. Ever since, with the help of the religious and the social patriarchy, Eve and her daughters are blamed for all that is wrong with humanity. In order to strengthen the blame, throughout the elaborate religious progression, women are depicted as the perfect ally for the Prince of Darkness. Women portrayed as his adversaries, disciples and worshippers; Modern paintings and movies have even gone to an extent to use a woman to portray Satan itself. The paper will trace a broad Satanic evolution and also the evil entity’s close association with the particular gender. The main focus would be the deliberate mistreatment of women in the name of such socially constructed religious patriarchy. Selecting popular movies, documentaries, paintings and other literary faculties, the paper tries hard to prove the mistreatments and interpretations. The birth of satanic feminism and the increasing sect of women embracing the movement is also discussed, along with the arguments of Satan being the first of feminists and the liberator of women.
