Abstract:

Fruit is main source of vital nutrients that is used in many parts of the globe as primary food. Eating fruits on a regular basis have potential to reduce higher chances of chronic disorders such as carcinomas, diabetes, cardiovascular disorders and many more. Due to increase in population along with variations in climate worldwide, make large scale food production as primary job which cannot be fulfilled by traditional breeding schemes. Luckily, "clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)" technology is paving the stage for improving fruit crops to a naive beginning and thus revolutionizing plant breeding. The process and development of the "CRISPR" method and its introduction to fruit varieties are illustrated in this study, including resistance to stresses such as biotic & abiotic, enhancement of fruit performance, and domestication.
